An experiment has to belong to a project.

This is particularly important when you are externally founded as access to lab books is often requested when an audit happens (so you want to easily retrieve those experiments related to your founded project).

Relationship to (input and output) samples

An experiment has a tight relationship with samples

LabID offers an advanced sample management module that let you describe the parent-child relationships between samples, their relationship with their original specimen stored in your lab collections, and their connection with e.g. NGS Assay (please see the relevant section for details). Practically speaking every experiment uses a list of input samples and produces a list of output samples and the ELN lets you define the lists of input and/or output samples an experiment consumed (see picture).
