Detail Views

All items registered in LabID are defined by a set of properties or attributes and is provided with a detail page where they can be observed. The detail page exhaustively lists the item's properties and allows users to edit values. Detail pages are also where one can attach documents, add notes or add annotations.

Overview of detail pages: On top, the toolbar with buttons to act on the item. On the middle left, the main panel displaying intrinsic item properties. On the middle right, other information panels (annotations, file attachment, notes and order panels)

Panels

The interface provides interactive panels for publishing and viewing data/metadata
Annotations: Controlled vocabulary information
File attachments: Pictures, PDF, Office documents (Word, Spreadsheet and Presentation files)
Notes: Comments left by self and/or collaborators

Annotations

The annotation module allows for describing important aspects of items that are not covered by the default set of attributes.

Notes

Note Panel with a single comment

All collaborators able to view an item are also able to publish notes on an item. To add a note, write its content in the text input field and press enter . The note is directly uploaded and become visible.

Each note displays its creation date and the username of the user that created it. Note creators can remove it using the trash icon

We encourage scientists to provide specific information about items, using the predefined models' properties and annotations, and use Notes whenever this is not possible.
