Mobile features

The UI of LabID has been developed with mobile interactivity in mind. Many parts of the application will adapt their layout to fit on smaller screens, to ensure that LabID can be accessed on-the-go, whether it is at the bench to quickly upload ELN attachments or during an informal meeting in a corridor where the availability of such plasmid has to be confirmed.

Fast access to last modified experiments

It is made very easy to quickly access the last entries made by you or by your collaborators. When login from your smartphone, one can quickly access the dashboard from where the last ELN entries, last modified items, etc., can be found (more information about the dashboard)

Quick attachments upload

From within an ELN entry, one can click on the camera button at the bottom right of the screen. This button is only present when browsing LabID on mobile, and allows to upload of ELN attachments, like a gel picture. To directly embed it within the lab notebook text, turn on the edit mode, place the cursor at the appropriate location in the text where to embed the picture and press the camera button, then follow the picture upload wizard.

Note: It is to be noted that some parts of the application are not well compatible with mobile displays. It is the case for example for list pages, where the amount of information that has to be presented is so large that it makes it difficult to fit on smaller devices.
